A baby story....

Welcome Daylynn Renee McGurk!!
Your dad and I feel very blessed to have such a healthy, beautiful baby girl. We waited what seems like forever for you to arrive and life feels more complete now that you are! Looking at my last post, we clearly were not very patient anymore and wanted you to come :) but you were sweet enough not to make us wait until Thursday so thank you little miss for that.
It all started Sunday night. I was starting to feel contractions, well maybe. I wasn't too terribly sure because my Braxton hicks never hurt. I wasn't sure if these were false labor or what so I watched the time just to see and they weren't close enough or consistent so just dealt with them for the night. During the day I didn't have too many and was still figuring you weren't going to come on your terms. Well, little did I know I would be wrong!
After work, Your dad cleaned the jeep and we put it in base just to be extra ready and one last thing to do later. I wanted either Mexican or my usual Applebee's. I was going to go to Applebee's with Vicki and Nicholl but then Vicki had a hair appt so we rescheduled for Tuesday. Your dad didn't want to go any where so we just stayed in. I decided to take a bath to relax and help a little with the back pain these contractions were giving me. I talked to Jess on the phone and even told her that I didn't predict anything happening and we even talked about how most women's water doesn't break on its own.
Haha! Again little did I know what was ahead! I slept on the couch because the contractions were not very comfortable but still didn't expect labor was in store. Around 2 or so they were getting closer and consistent so I just kept riding it out until I knew for sure this was the real deal. Whelp, come 4 ish it was the real deal, my water broke! Ahhh it was one of the weirdest thing, not that anyone probably wants to know. So basically I woke up your dad and we were on our way to the....oops we took the scenic route because we started going to the old hospital. :)
One thing I was never told to do was pre-register at the hospital, not even during our tour. (So note to you mommies to be, register at the hospital too.)  As we arrived, contractions and water still leaking, we had to register, which took forever! Thank heavens I wasn't in serious pain! Finally back in our delivery room I got all set up. I was still not very dilated so it was basically going to be a long day before we were going to deliver. I knew I was going to get an epidural but woowee. I made it 6ish hours without it, mostly because I had to. Your dad and grandma Tanji were amazing in helping me get through the painful time. Once I got the epidural, life was peachy :)  Then before we knew it, it was time to get the ball rolling! Oh my were we emotional. We were about to welcome this little girl into our life and it was the most special moment! After 35 minutes Daylynn was here!!  Absolutely perfect! I have to say that dad of yours is a natural and I love him even more than before! He was/is so in love with you and it just melts my heart.  We got to spend some time with you alone before visitors came, which was nice. We are just so overwhelmed with happiness and love for our daughter!
We had lots of guests and everyone just adores you, which how could they not!  We finally got to go home yesterday. Grandma Tanji is staying a few days so it was nice to catch back up on some sleep, but thankfully you are a sleeper. I pray it continues.
We are just thankful for how smooth the entire pregnancy and delivery went. God truly works in mysterious ways. The only thing missing is Grandma Day but knows she is oohing and ahhing up above!
