Daylynn Renee McGurk
Welcome baby girl! Did you know deciding on a name is a little difficult?! Your dad and I took awhile to completely decide your name.
From the beginning we threw out some names we liked before we knew you were a little girl. I have always loved Danica since I was a little girl, well with the race car driver Danica Patrick we decided nay on that choice. We moved on to the next choice Daylynn. I wanted that as your first name but got moved to your middle name for awhile with possibly Marlee as your first name. Either way you were having Daylynn as part of your name, that was not a choice. The Marlee got thrown out after a few days so you were just Baby Daylynn (baby in place of a blank for your first name). Well come July 4th your dad finally decided Daylynn it was! We then had your first name finalized just needed a middle name.
I was very thankful and very happy he loved using Daylynn as your first name. Why does this name mean so much and how did I think of it? Well you are named after a very special lady! We called your great great grandma, Day. She was an exceptional woman and it really saddens me you were not able to meet her. She passed away about 3months ago. She loved you very much and tried hard to stick around so she could meet you but thankfully she was not in pain anymore. She got to see your ultrasound pictures and was still here when we decided Daylynn was going to be either part of your name. She also watched you grow and kick in my belly. She even left you a letter we have framed. You were a blessing in disguise for us. God works in mysterious ways and as much as it kills me your Grandma Day is now shining down on us instead of in our presence, she is now your guardian angel and think this must have been his plan all along. Anyways you are a lucky girl being named after such an amazing person. You have been loved the minute we found out about you :) You have brought a lot of joy to our family and you aren't even born yet! We love you Daylynn Renee and can't wait to meet you and watch you grow!
windows down and cruise
First off Patrick and I's favorite song is cruise by Florida Georgia Line. We can't get enough of it! It is fitting for our weekend as well. We headed back to Manhattan/Wamego for the last time before our lives completely change and w we meet our sweet baby girl! I had another baby shower and then we took some maternity pictures. I gained a ton of great advice and heard some very hilarious stories! I'm not sure if I am more prepared or now more scared ha ha! It was fun though! Then in the evening we met up with Patricks old boss' wife for maternity pictures. She did an amazing job and can't wait to see how they turned out! Patrick wasn't too thrilled but he was a good sport and we ended having fun. Then we stayed for dinner and Jess and Phil came over too. Saying good bye to them made me get emotional. It is weird to think we won't see them again possibly until I am a mother ahhh!
Only 5 weeks left. Where has the time gone?! I am very thankful it has flown by but atthe same time, I have been extremely lucky to have a good pregnancy thus far! My friends and family have been extremely helpful and supportive. Not to mention my amazing husband who has been positive and excited about everything. I am a very lucky lady! I am excited for our new adventure ahead..
While on our 2 hour cruise, I decided since I have been a slacker I would start making a list of things to pack in my hospital bag and baby girls. I also made a calling tree list so I don't have to call everyone myself. I also did some grading. I'd say it was a productive drive.
Well we are about to stop to get a pumpkin spice latte on our way back. I have been craving one andthe there is no Starbucks in GB which is probably a good thing for me!

6 weeks to go!!!!
It's been awhile since I have updated...
Last weekend I had my first baby shower. We didn't really look into the fact there was a home game and we chose Varneys as the location. Oops! there was a parade for the marching bands so people had to park a long ways and walk but it was pretty awesome getting to watch the parade from Varneys. I also got some great things and we had delicious food. Bruce made his amazing chili for my shower, pretty much my favorite! I also got a picture with the Mask!!
After doing the baby shower thing, I met up with some more friends to do some tailgating! I knew it was going to be the last game to tailgate without a baby so took advantage! We also were very lucky and got tickets from some friends here in Great Bend. I was exhausted so let Phil go in with Patrick so I could go back and relax. It was a long day full of fun!
The next day went home to hang out with family while Patrick played in a tournament. It was nice to hang out and see them since it has been awhile since I have seen them. I needed some family time. Then we headed back home, and I was definitely ready to be home. Car rides are getting a little more uncomfortable for me and gets me a little flustered when i can't get situated! We have a baby shower next weekend again and a wedding in Kansas City the next two weekends but A four hour drive sounds terrible but we shall see, it would be fun at least.
Moving on to the important thing right now is baby girl! She is still wiggling and hiccuping all over the place. The other night Jess and I were sitting there just watching her move and see my belly form to her shape. It is quite possibly the most amazing feeling ever! I'm still feeling pretty great other than a few break downs here and there, mostly about clothes. Ugh, it was getting chilly and I can't fit in hardly any of my pants without a belly band which I find extremely uncomfortable. My belly has grown too much. I thankfully didn't have to buy hardly any maternity clothes, just a few tops and I didn't want to have to buy any pants with 6 weeks left. I ended up getting a pair of yoga type pants and they have been made my life better haha :) It is hard to believe that in 3 weeks I will be considered full term and within the following 3weeks our baby girl could be here anytime. I hope she stays cooking until she is due but am anxious to meet her. I am hoping my doctor decides I can get a 3d sonogram because I'd love to see her face :) That's all for now...dinner is calling :)

Just because you are the most....
Attractive pregnant woman ever...
Yes this was said to me this weekend and my did it make me feel good about my pregnant self!!!!
I have gained some weight but thankfully it has mostly just been my belly. I remember when the movie What to expect when expecting came out and after watching I felt like I had no glow going on. Yes I was happy and excited just didn't really enjoy pregnancy, not that I fully enjoy it now either but it is much better and I absolutely love feeling little miss wiggle around inside me. It really does just make me smile ear to ear, I love it! This weekend I was told I was glowing so it made me feel good knowing that I am starting to enjoy pregnancy and feel good! Then later in the evening at the wedding, we were debating on whether to go out after or not. Clearly I did not really want to go out, not only was I exhausted but what pregnant girl wants to go to the bars? Well Leave it to Trent for dropping the opening line to me. Haha how could I not feel awesome about myself and he definitely helped Patrick out and that convinced me to go. We did end up having a fun time people watching and we all had some good laughs. That's a story in itself.
Ok let's start with Friday. I rode to Salina with Pattie since hubs was doing his training all last week. I was sure happy to see him! It's weird to think that just 4 months ago I had to go without seeing him during the week for a year, but when you are used to seeing someone everyday it's hard not to see them. (I think that is why not having Day around is extra difficult for our family.) After meeting up with Patrick, we hit the road to Topeka. We ended up getting there at a perfect time for us because we didn't have to stand in the rain. It was so good to see some friends and some we haven't seen for like a year. Then we just went back to the hotel. This mama went to bed.
Wedding Saturday: the weather turned out perfect for Jed and Heather and was beautiful with the roses. Then we had a break until the reception so the group went to go hang out. The pregnant ladies were needing some boost too so Erica and I went to Starbucks to get some coffee mmm so that helped gain some energy. The reception was an absolute blast! We got down on the dance floor and sang lots of song and even had some live entertainment from Jed, Trent, and Casey. Toooo much fun! Then we ended up going to Jeremaiah Bullfrogs when Trent dropped the infamous line. That was pretty hilarious between girls wearing lingerie and girls hitting on one of the guys. We finally called it a night which I was thankful for because I really was tired!
Sunday: Patrick had some buddies in town that he lived with in college so he went golfing while I ran some errands and got his birthday presents. It was a nice day with my long lost friend Jess too. Then we had a BBQ with the crew. We had fun reminiscing of the previous night. We then went back to manhattan to hang out with his friend Dane. They only see each other a few times a year so it was good to see him. Then we stayed at Jess and Phils. Speaking of Phil and Jess they asked us to be a part of their wedding next July. We couldn't be excited to help celebrate our best friends wedding with them! Love them both and miss getting to hang out every weekend!!
Monday: we headed back pretty early so we could do some relaxing before starting the work week. Poor Patrick hadnt been home for over a week. That afternoon I decided to go through baby stuff from Addison. I washed all the clothes up to 6 months. It was fun to go through and fold everything. It's hard to believe we will be parents in 8ish weeks. I am getting anxious but a little scared too. I have plenty of experience so I am not too worried just different when it will be mine. Some of our friends just had their babies so it get me more nd more excited.
The nursery is still not quite ready. I went through the clothes so that has helped cler up some space. The cradle is ready besides the matching bedding I'd like. My parents are bringing the crib and chair this weekend so hopefully then it will feel even more real. I also met my new doctor last week and couldn't be happier. I know I'm in good hands and will be taken care of. He said she's already head down and had to have been for awhile because she's been kicking my right ribs out for a few weeks, silly girl already a pistol. I'm hoping he lets me do a 3d sono because I am so curious what she looks like and if I have to wait I guess I can but would love to see her one last time.
Hmmm let see what else...it was hubby's birthday Tuesday. The big 28. He got some pretty sweet gifts this year and was very excited about his new 2wood. Not only did he get a new club but he got a few games at the club and a membership at the lake. He clearly is a golfer.
That's about it in our lives...
Looking forward to my upcoming baby showers and maternity pictures :) Patrick can't wait either ;)
