Just one week left

I am still in shock that my little baby is going to be ONE in just a week!
I can still remember the day she was born like it was yesterday!  She was just the sweetest little thing ever, she still is.  I have been going through old pictures for part of her birthday celebration decorations.  She has grown up so much in such little time!  Her personality is sassier then ever!

Monday night I had class so was hoping we would get out early enough to be home before she went to bed.  She had a fussy night so Patrick put her in bed a little early but was still crying when I got home so you know I went and got her out of bed! :)  We played a little and she was clearly tired so went and rocked her.  She doesn't let me rock her to bed very often anymore so I definitely took advantage of the moment!  I just started bawling while rocking her!!  I just miss her as a baby baby, but am so lucky to watch her grow up and watch all the new things she learns to do and adventures she has.  Being a parent is the best thing in my life and I am so very thankful God blessed Patrick and I with Daylynn.  We were not planning on this little miracle but are so happy to have her in our life.

Here's to the last week with an infant in our household (for now ;)) and preparing myself emotionally to having a toddler!!
I'll leave you with a few random pictures of our little punkin!

A Weekend in Lakin

Lakin, Kansas
Lakin is about 2 ish hours from Great Bend...given the speed of course :)
It is probably one of the most boring drives ever.  If you have ever been to Dodge City this is basically the same drive you just go north once you hit there.
So Daylynn and I hit the road early Saturday morning to head to Grandma Jo's house to see the family.  She slept the majority of the way but the stinkin sun was in her eyes so couldn't sleep the entire time but was a trooper and a great little traveler.  We had an awesome day seeing everyone and playing games.  She was showing them how smart she is too :) My grandmas house is an old farmhouse with a layout where you can walk in a circle going through all the rooms.  They kinda all connect.  Daylynn loved this and kept going in circles.
Daylynn sleeps in a pack n' play for her naps at daycare but I've never put her in one otherwise.  She slept pretty well for not being in her bed.  Such a picky little thing!  She must get that from her mom...no denying that!  Then Sunday morning we got up early again and headed back home to make it in time for Church service.  She slept the entire trip back, which I hoped since she was up at 6:30 for goodness sakes!
Now that school is back in session and our little family is here in Great Bend, we only get back to Manhattan about once a month maybe 2 times.  This seems like more then nothing, but before I used to go back every weekend and see my family and Patrick so it is still a little struggle when I have to wait this long to see my family.  Its more of a struggle on them since Daylynn is growing so quick and changing every day.

*On a side note, our Librarian had her little baby girl this afternoon, and it got me a little emotional thinking about almost a year ago I was in her shoes sending a message to my co-teacher and co-workers about our little bundle of joy. AHH my baby is almost a 1 year old!!!

11 months!

Our little lady is now 11 months old!! I'm late on posting this but better late then never :)

Some updated stats on our punkin:
Weight: She's weighing at 23 pounds...really starting to thin out lately
Height: 29 inches give or take I again used the measuring tape so it is a rough estimate when she doesn't hold still

Food:
You are still a eating machine! You eat 3 meals a day and snacking in between.  You eat anything and everything.  Your favorites are still hotdogs, cheese, chicken nuggets, and fruits.
You still drink about 4 bottles a day.  Here this past week we have been kinda sick or getting sick (doctors visit tomorrow) and haven't been eating as well as your normally do.
Bedtime:
You are doing awesome at night, rather then last night that is! You normally go down about 7-8 and get up at 6:30 sometimes later on the weekends.  Last night was a not so good night with lots of wake ups.  I'm pretty sure you have an ear infection though so I can't blame ya.  Plus mom loves the extra snuggles even if that means no sleep :)
Naps:
Still getting 2 naps a day.  Most mornings you are good and ready for a nap and the afternoons as well so those won't be going anywhere any time soon.
Diapers:
Still size 3
Clothes:
Sporting the 12 months and some 18 months.  It varies by style but you are growing like a weed my baby!
Latest tricks:
You blow kisses.  I'm not sure if you were doing this for sure at 10 months but I know we were working at it.  Now when we go to leave you blow kisses or if I say I love you, you blow kisses.  It's quite possibly the best thing ever!  You are doing a lot more mocking now.  We get thank you sometimes, and uck (you like to chew on moms shoes...yuckky), and daddy.  You were saying chiefs chiefs but it was still jibbery but we know thats what you were saying after copying dad.  You also love to laugh and lean your head back.  Your dad thought he was funny and said something then started fake laughing while leaning his head back and you ahve been doing that ever since.  You love the tupperwear cabinet in the kitchen.  You could spend an hour in there playing and making music with your spoon.  It's hilarious and crazy how independent you are.  You have been walking all over since a week after your 10th birthday.  You have it down pat now and are almost running at times.  Way to big, way to fast.  You still love to put things in smaller containers and then take them out.  Last night you were putting your chicken nuggets in the tupperwear bowl and then out to take a bite then back in.  You are so smart its ridiculous! I can forsee a very very bright future for you!

This past Saturday you stayed home with Grandma Pattie for the first time over night while mom and dad went to see Blake Shelton!!  We missed you a lot and felt bad because you were having some off days but we weren't gone long and you had a blast with Grandma Pattie and Ol Dog Grandpa Mike
You clearly are loved more and more every day and we can't wait to celebrate your ONE YEAR birthday in a month!!

Love you so much Daylynn, we are truly blessed to have you as our daughter.  We can't thank God enough for letting us be your parents!!
Just chilling in her chair watching TV

Oh the many faces you have

Panther Model
Crazy hair, don't care, but love kisses from momma

Walking what?!

I am going to have a little bragging moment because I am so very proud of my little punkin! Daylynn has been walking by holding on to hands and even taking steps here and there. Well now she walks everywhere! To the kitchen, across the living room, to the bathroom, all over! It is by far the sweetest thing ever! When she is jabbering away while walking is even better! Daylynn you smart little girl you! 10 months and walking! Yay!

5 on Friday

Wellll, I must be in a blogging mood this week because this will make 3 blogs in 2 days!
I'm back again for the 5 on Friday...it's been a long while!

-ONE-

Birthdays! This past Wednesday was my hubby's birthday!  He's pretty easy to celebrate for! I cooked some Ribs, which are his favorite, and we hung out and watched TV.  His parent's brought over a DQ Ice Cream cake later in the evening too.  It's not his favorite dessert, but I think it might be one of mine :)  You know I'll be eating the leftovers all weekend! YUM!

-TWO-

Long Weekends!
I love it when we have 3 day weekend! It's even better when it involves your family and friends! As previously posted, Daylynn was baptized Saturday night so our family was in town to help celebrate our little blessed baby!

-THREE-
Green Smoothies!
You could probably say I'm addicted to these!  I'm pretty sure I've prevously had this in a 5 on Friday but they are so dang good! Pretty easy to make as well!  I have been making this every morning for Patrick and I for breakfast.  Daylynn sometimes helps me drink it too!

-FOUR-
Insanity/Gym
I have been extremely motivated these last few weeks with getting fit! I have been a crazy person and going to the gym at 5 every morning!!! It really has been perfect since Daylynn is still sleeping and by the time I pick her up from Daycare, I am limited on time to go work out at the gym.  I have; however, been also doing insanity in the afternoons as soon as we get home.  It's just the right amount of time to get a workout in and then start supper.  Daylynn enjoys the work out videos too!  Sometimes I have extra weight because I hold her when she is wanting her momma.  Feeling the burn!

-FIVE-
Big Brother
I'm almost embarrassed to put this one because it truly is a ridiculous show, but I can't get enough of it!  I have to watch it every night its on.  If I miss it because of softball or something, you better believe I'm researching who was kicked out or put up on the block haha!!
I have not however watched them outside of what is aired on the show, and people must really do that if they offer it so I'm not the worst one out there! haha

Hope you all have a fabulous Friday!!!

10 months...

10 months old?! Really!? It can't be so!  You have 2 months until you are ONE years old!! That doesn't seem possible at all!
Well lets update everyone on your latest happenings...

Weight: 20 lbs 4 oz.-
(You are starting to slow down on the gaining weight which is probably because you don't sit still one bit!)
Height: not positive one this but last we checked you were still average at 50% for your age.

Milestones:
  • TEETH: You have a mouth full of teeth! You have 8 teeth I last checked and working on some more.
  • Crawling like a mad woman: you still prefer to crawl because it is way faster to get around when you crawl compared to walking.
  • Adventurous: You are getting more brave when it comes to walking.  You are up to 3 steps on your own now! YAY baby girl!  This morning you were pretty much running for those 3 steps so I am not sure if you are just going to start running first or walking.
  • Putting things into containers: At your last doctors visit they said you were doing things a 1 year old does, and one of those things is putting things inside a bucket or cup and dumping them out and starting the process over again.   The other day you took daddys cup and started finding all your pacifiers in the living room and putting them in the cup.  You also put your toys in a bucket and pull them out and again and again.  It is so awesome to see that brain working and you being so smart!!
  • Drinking out of a real cup: this is only if we put a very small amount of water in it but you LOVE to think you are such a big girl and drinking out of a cup for real! It's hilarious!  You also sometimes help mom drink her green smoothie in the mornings too.
  • Eating like a champ!: You only eat baby oatmeal and drink bottles, otherwise you are all table food!  It makes my life much easier just tearing up food for you or you coming up and eating off our plates.  You love everything! You especially love cheese, chicken nuggets, and hot dogs.  They say to not give you hot dogs but I do and you love them.
  • Dancing like no ones business: You got moves Daylynn!  You hear a song and you just start dancing.  It can range from dropping it like its hott or just swaying back and forth.  Either way, it's amazing!  You also love to 2-step with mom or dad in the morning when we watch CMT while getting ready.
  • Giggles:  You giggle and laugh ALL the time, when your not screaming that is-more on that next-  You also just laugh when you hear people laughing or just for the heck of it.  It's too dang cute.
  • Screaming:  Sometimes when you are getting hungry or super tired and I'm busy cooking or doing something you don't just fuss you straight up scream as loud and high pitched as possible.  You know it works so that's why you still do it.  Such a stinker :)  I was telling my mom and she didn't believe me but by golly I got it on camera during bath time once. haha
  • Jabber: You have started to talk a lot more.  Before it was a lot of ma da ba things, now were getting into the jabbers where it makes no sense at all.  You love to hum and sing as well.--Music is your thing, clearly.  You wave bye-bye all the time and are saying Hi and Bye or sounds pretty darn close anyways.  You also mock us sometimes.  If we say yea, you say ya, and the same with the hi and bye.
  • Wagon Wheel:  Yes the song, you are obsessed with this song.  I play it on my phone for you to keep you occupied when you start to get bored if we are at the store or even at home for that matter.  It is on repeat and you just dance and giggle and LOVE it.  Now if the song comes on the radio or on TV you instantly stop whatever you were babbling about or playing with an zone into the song and get dancing.  You are such a silly girl, I'm amazed how much you love it.
  • Monster: not the energy drink but that's your nickname at daycare from the kids, and they mean it in a good way.  One of her favorite games is being chased around or doing the chasing.  She likes to chase the kids around and they pretend she's the monster getting them! Too cute!  She just gets so excited and giggles and has that excited shrieking scream going on.
  • SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT: I think you've been doing this for longer than a month but it is GLORIOUS to be able to sleep all night too! You sleep in on the weekends and if nothing just hang out in your crib chatting away until we come in!  You rock Daylynn!
So many changes from the little bitty baby you once were.  Your personality is really shining right now and its such a great one! You are loved by so many people, and you love so many people! You bring smiles to everyone's faces, especially your parents'.  We continue to say this but we truly are blessed with a perfect to us little baby!  You are so fun, so lovable, so happy, so on and so on little girl!  I feel like it was yesterday we were in the hospital admiring our newborn, and now your 10 months! It makes me cry at how beautiful, smart, and caring you are!  You're going to do big things in life, I can already tell!  We're pretty proud of you girlfriend! :)
Love you bunches little miss Daylynn!

Child of God

This past Saturday night our precious baby girl was baptized!
We should have done this sooner, but we finally decided on a church.  We wanted a smaller service so chose a Saturday evening.  Labor Day weekend was a perfect weekend so that our family was able to make it in from out of town.  Devin, Patrick's brother, is the Godfather, and my sister, Jess, is the Godmother of Daylynn.  My parents, siblings, and grandma made it for the service.  Patrick's parents live in Great Bend so this wasn't a hard task to make it :)  Then my good friends in Great Bend Vicki, Nicholl, Kylee and her family came too.
Daylynn wore an adorable white gown with a yellow stitched cross on it, a yellow head band, and an extremely special gift from her Great Great Grandma Day who she is named after.  She wore a necklace with her birthstone.  She didn't mess with her necklace at all!
Daylynn did really well during the service, normally she is in the nursery so we were a little curious how this was going to work.  She also did well during the baptism, she wasn't thrilled about getting water poured on her (this isn't new considering she still freaks out a little when washing her hair), and she was trying to pull off his hand when he was blessing her.  When she tried to pry his hand off, it was pretty cute actually.
After the service, we all went back to Pattie's house and enjoyed a scrumptious meal.  It was so nice to have all our family in town and some friends.  We appreciated all those that came and truly feel blessed to have such a wonderful family and our precious baby girl!

Daylynn is 10 months tomorrow, so will be updating on her then :)

5 of Friday

Having mixed emotions about it being Friday already! This means that I go back to work on Monday and Daylynn starts daycare again. This doesn't sound so good! I am starting to get a little more excited about being back in my room after all the decorating and hardwork I've been putting in this week, with the help of Daylynn of course. Now on to the list :)
One.

These adorable shorts!! I am in LOVE with Old Navy shorts. They are long enough to cover my toosh (the picture shows the longer pair of the two lengths)but still comfortable and cute! I got a black and tealish color at first. The other day Old navy was having some sales, you bet ya I took a peek and found these gems for cheap! As I just went to find the picture they are still on sale and they have a Kstate Purple! Looks like I'm getting another pair! :) LOVE IT!
Daylynn also got some new stuff for 2-4 bucks a pair/onsie. can't beat that!
Two.
My helper this week, or well she thinks she's helping.

This was after she decided to pull all my books and cd's off the shelf right there. It ended up being alright because I haven't gone through those books all year and had stuff to be tossed. She also likes to pull the sticky notes off the leveled reader books that I had separated out. Otherwise, she is absolutely awesome and been a trooper. I have put off fixing up my classroom all summer to spend time with her and now last minute trying to fix it up. I get all next week to prepare but I get stressed and overwhelmed when I'm behind. We have been going up there every day this week and its now finished. The only thing I have left is to put up my Common Core Vocabulary words for Language Arts (if I decide to) and then start the plans and copies! Woo!
Three.

These have been my weakness the last few weeks, only with strawberry and/or Mint choc. chip. I love me some Braums Waffle cones! I ended up buying waffle cones and ice cream for my house because I was making enough trips to Braums. Here's to gaining 10 pounds off ice-cream.
Four.
Eazy Street Potato Skins and Cheese.
Ok I feel like a fat kid following up the ice cream with more fattening foods but OH MY are these amazing! They are just potato skins and you dip them in cheese. I forget how good they are, which is probably not a bad thing. We had dinner there last night with Mike, Patricks dad, and of course ordered some. YUMMMY!
Five.
PTRC
This is a GB thing, but we have a resource center here that everyone can use. Mostly teachers use it but even the public can use to. My school has a budget set aside for teachers to go get things made or laminated or whatever so that we don't have to pay ourselves. This is really nice because I'd much rather just make it myself and someone else pay for it :) The work stinks to get it ready but then its just how you want it. They have so many different di-cuts, paper, stickers, magnets, supplies, etc. It's amazing! I get my velcro and magnetic tape from there too. Whatever they have that I need is where I go! We've been up there almost every day this week as well. I forsee some visits there in a couple months preparing for Daylynn's big party! (AHH Quit thinking about it-she can not almost be a year old already!)
Well...off to get ready for the day and head back up to the school.
Have a great Friday and the rest of the weekend!!

It wouldn't let me do the HTML link so I will just type up the link

Nine Months...

Happy girl!

This is how excited he gets when daddy gets home!!

I'm not supposed to chew on that?!!

Nine Months?!! It can't be! It's hard to believe my sweet little baby is inching closer and closer to becoming a One Year Old! You'll always be my sweet baby though no matter the age :)
Speaking of turning one, I did finally decide your first birthday theme! I am pretty excited about it! I love yellow on you and the song "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine" so we are doing a yellow and gray theme to go along with the song.  I hope it all turns out great.  I need to finalize all the details and location and what not but hey I have at least 1 month before I really need to buckle down for invites and what not :)
Stats...
Weight: 21 lbs
Height: tbd next Friday. She's a busy bee!
Eating: Oh little lady, you can put away the food! You LOVE to eat and eat pretty much anything that we eat.  You really love the little cutie oranges.  You eat one almost every day. (Your diapers are pretty gros but you love love them!!)  You also are eating things by yourself for the most part.  I will cut things up small enough if it is too big and you self-feed.  It's kind of nice when I am trying to finish supper or do something.  I can put you in your high chair and give you some cheerios and you will wait until I finish whatever it is I make/made.  You still get about 4 bottles a day.
Bedtime:  You're becoming a rockstar at this-compared to your "old ways" and I am a little afraid to even say that you're doing so well for fear you will go back.  You go down anywhere from 7:30-10.  There for a few nights you were hitting a second wind come 8 and ready to party for a few hours until I make you give in :) but normally its about 8 that you go down and sleep until 7ish give or take.  You do occasionally wake up in the middle of the night but go back down withing a few minutes.
Awake:  If we look at today for example, you only had a 20 minute nap at lunch time and survived until our way home from mom's work which was at 4:15.  You are one tough cookie and you didn't even really fuss or get cranky.  On a normal day; however, you get two naps one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  They can vary between 30 minutes to a few hours.
Clothes: You're in 12 month for the most part but some 9 month still fits.  I just decided to start getting you 12 month clothes-mostly t-shirts becaue they are way easier to get you dressed in because we get you dressed while you are on the move.  Your shorts or 12 month but could probably even be 18 month because some  pairs are definitely booty shorts haha.  It's ok, you're stinkin' cute!
Favorites: Pretty much you love everything.  You are a pretty happy baby for the most part until its nap time or bedtime.  You will mock us when we laugh or say simple thigns like "ya".  A couple of weeks ago I asked if the lunch was good to dad and he said Ya and you felt the need to let me know yours was good too :) Your personality is shining through more and more.  you're such a turkey its hilarious to see what you are pulling next.  You like to do this shy gesture where you shrug your shoulders kinda.  You also make faces at me and have the BIGGEST smile full of teeth! Oh you light up our worlds we can't get enough!  You love books and getting every single one out and reading through them. I moved the one box of books to help block the tv and you were pretty upset when you realized they were moved.  Once I showed you where they were you were fine! Smart girl-keep reading!  Your favorite toy is your little fish.  You are attached to that thing I am positive.
Latest Milestones: You take big girl baths in the tub now! We decided to get rid of the whale tub so you could have more wiggle room.  You have taken baths without it several times at Grandmas so knew it wouldn't be a problem here.  You are walking all over the place holding on to things and hands.  You can even walk just holding on to ONE hand!! I'm pretty proud of you! You are a speedy little learner!  You are self feeding-which I've already talked about.  You went to your first little concert :) Haha not really but Bryson and Sawyer's band were playing here in Great Bend at some thign so we checked it out! You loved Bryson singing Rock Me Mama to you! Talking a TON! Most of it is gibberish of course but I love it.  You have been saying ma and da but I think you have tied ma to me which is pretty awesome.  You say bye and wave bye bye.  That can be hit or miss as its a new thing we're working on.
Daylynn, You are the greatest thing that ever happened to us and we love you more than you will ever know! You are an onery little booger but we love it.  Thanks for being the cutie patootie you are and always making us smile!
Love, mom and dad

Fridayyyy!

It's Fridayyyyy!!!! Linking up for the Five on Friday!

1. Teachers pay Teachers!
I can't get enough of that store! Dont get me wrong, I like to get creative and make up my own things for school but I love when someone else does the work for my thinking too! I've been soaking up any and all time I've had with Daylynn this summer so have slacked on getting my classroom and ideas ready but TPT has saved the day and I've found all the things I've wanted to incorporate and change in my room, mostly for free at that!

2. Blogs
I not only love blogging about our lives and Daylynn but I get some awesome ideas from other teachers! I am always looking for new ideas and ways to teach certain topics and that's the first place I always look are other blogs by teachers. I even started a blog for my students and their parents this year! I've been wanting to do this just hadnt yet!

3. Slow-pitch softball
If you know me, you know softball is my favorite sport! I can't get enough of it. Sadly I had to take a year off because I was pregnant. I did even play two games last summer but obviously didn't play my hardest and then decided I better take the rest of the season off. Patrick got asked to play on our friends team this summer and of course said yes! We had our first game last night and we won! It was nice to get back on the field and dust off the ol glove! :)

4. Sales
I am trying to be more of a bargain shopper and wait until things go on sale. I have been getting lots of good stuff lately for decent prices! Daylynn got some new clothes, which she needed some more variety since she keeps growing out of her old stuff, and even I got some new stuff. I didn't really need it but I wanted and so why not once in a while :)

5. French onion laughing cow cheese
Can you say yum?! I saw some on sale -weird- so I thought I'd try it. So good and low calories. Looks like I found myself a new snack!

Sorry for no pictures. I ran out of time while dinner was cooking :) have a great weekend!

Friday Five Fun!

Back again with another day of Friday Faves...

1. Weddings!!!
A picture of the Garvert newlyweds!
I have always enjoyed going to weddings! Watching two people in love get married and then dancing and having fun, how could you not enjoy weddings?!  This past weekend one of my best friends got married and it was one of the funnest weddings in a long time!
2. Omaha Zoo
A couple weekends ago, Daylynn, my family and I went up to Omaha zoo for the day.  I have always enjoyed going to the zoo but it is even better when you get to take your child there.  Daylynn is still young and doesn't quite get the whole zoo thing but the aquarium she LOVED! Watching her stare at the fish and see them swim around was priceless!  She loved it!
3. Monster Cookies
I feel like a fatty posting this as one of my top five favorites for the moment, but oh well they're good!  Instead of cake for the guests, Jess had a cookie bar.  There were so many good choices, but of course, Monster cookies were what I went for!  I forgot that I had some stashed in my freezer waiting to be cooked from last school year, so you bet I cooked them this week!  Now, I am scarfing down on them and gaining those pounds I lost sweating and dancing all weekend. Oh well thats what working out is for right?!
4. Nursery Rhymes and Kid Songs
"The Ants go marching 1 by 1 hoorah, hoorah"...
I have always loved singing all those silly kid songs when I was little and when working with kids.  Now that I have Daylynn we sing silly songs all the time.  One of my favorite things to do during our days at home is turning on one of her C.D.s and just singing and dancing and being silly!  I have always been a child at heart and I hope when Daylynn gets older and she thinks back to her childhood she remembers these goofy times! :)
5. A baby's laugh, especially a good deep laugh.
There is absolutely nothing cuter then a babys laugh, no matter who the baby is.  I LOVE to get Daylynn giggling and laughing.  She laughs so hard she snorts and its the sweetest thing ever.  She's ticklish like her daddy so making her laugh is easy peasy.  Having a happy baby is the best!
Have a great weekend all!

1 year later....

Our 1 year anniversary was Sunday and its crazy and hard to believe that it has been a year since our wedding day.  I still remember our wedding like it was yesterday!  Such a fun time with our closest friends and family.  Perfect :)

As the previous post, Patrick and I were in our friends wedding so we were back in Manhattan for the weekend celebrating their big day.  We then had to drive back to GB that day so we didn't do anything to fancy.  We just relaxed and enjoyed the rest of the day with each other and our precious baby girl!
Looking back, everything moved pretty quickly, engaged, married 3 months later, move to GB the day after, and a baby 3 1/2 months after that.  We wouldn't trade it or have it any other way.  This past year has been nothing short of amazing.  Yes you have your trying times, but honestly we have loved the married life and being parents.  Our little baby is 3 months away from being a 1 year old and quite frankly, I am not sure I am ready for it.  I am wishing time would stand still for a little longer!
We were told that the first year is paper for gifts.  I love the idea that each year is a different thing and you have to get creative and think of somethign that uses that product.  A few weekends ago we went to a concert so I got concert tickets (paper).  He got me a few books, and of course we gave each other cards.  We also will be going to see Blake Shelton later this year and can't wait!!!  All in all, its been the best year yet, and can't wait for whats to come!!

**A quick update on Daylynn too...
We have a walker as for holding on to hands.  Prior to this weekend, she would just stand and bounce/dance when taking your fingers.  Now we walk all over the house together.  She is getting more comfortable standing without holding on to things as well.  I wonder how long it will be until she is walking on her own.  I have 2 weeks until I go back to work and it makes me sick to my stomach to think about.  She starts at a new daycare so we will be hanging out with her a few times a week until then so I know she is comfortable.

JP Wedding!

Ok where to begin with this awesome wedding! Let's start with the history of our friendship...
Jess once upon a time when I first met her, didn't like me so much. She thought I was after her bf at the time, but soon realized this was not the case :) and we started hanging out occasionally. Once she started at GTM is when our friendship really grew and I'm so thankful it did! Phil grew up with Patrick but when Phil started at GTM, they became closer too. Eventually Jess and Phil started dating again and the rest is history! Phil and Jess even came clear to GB the night after Daylynn was born. Seriously the best friends we could ask for!
After weddings, normally the wedding party gets in a party bus or limo, not us, we got in Phil's uncles RV.  Pretty legit if you ask me!  We went to Stagg to take pictures on the Golf Course. It was fun!
Then we had dinner and then the Grand Wedding March, then time to get our grooves on!

This picture pretty much sums up the entire night!  I am a bit biased with my wedding of course, but this was one of the funnest weddings I have ever been in or too! The dance floor was full and popping the entire night!  Patrick and I had a blast, and felt very lucky to be a part of their big day and celebrate with them! We also saw all our Manhattan peeps whom we miss a ton so it was an extra amazing weekend!  Someday we will be back in the Manhattan area!!

Daylynn ended up staying at my parents house.  We were going to have her come out for a little but decided to take the night off.  She of course probably had more fun with Grandma T anyways since she gets rather spoiled there!  Nothing beats coming home and picking her up after a night or two away though! Seeing your baby's face light up is just amazing!
Anyways, it was a great wedding and a good time had by all!
Congratulations to Jess and Phil, we love you both!
*Cheers to anniversaries celebrations in the future :)

Friday Five!

Linking up for the five on Friday!

 1. Omaha Zoo!

In years past my family would not be able to go on big vacations so we would take a day and go up to the Omaha Zoo. This year we took Daylynn and Addison. They both loved it! Of course, Daylynn didn't quite care as much as Addi but she absolutely loved the aquarium and all the sea life. Looks like our first pet will perhaps be a fish?!

2. Sales!
I have been looking for a new pair of tennis shoes for probably a year. I am quite possibly the pickiest person ever when it comes to my shoes, ok pretty much everything. Yesterday my sister and I were looking for shoes for Addison and I wandered over to the baby clothes and found a few good deals, while my sister saw a sale on a cute pair of shoes. I figured I'd try them on and see since they were 40 bucks off. Sure enough they fit perfect! Yay now I have an old pair to wear while mowing the grass!

3. Seeing your husband after not seeing them for 4days!

Daylynn and I came to my parents Sunday so we could go to Omaha Monday morning. We just stayed for the week since we are in a wedding tomorrow. Patrick got into town last night so we were rather excited to see him!
Speaking of husband, our year anniversary is Sunday! Oh boy, looking back at our year I just can't help but smile! We've been through a lot on our journey but we wouldn't change it for the world! We feel very blessed and can't wait for many many more years!!

4. Friends!!

Now that Patrick is in Great Bend with me, I rarely came home except for special events so time was always limited. I have really missed all my friends back here in the Manhattan area.  I don't get to see them as much as I'd like, that's for certain!  Sunday evening I was able to meet up with Monica, Kristin, Josh, and little miss Jordynn.  I also got to see Kristin, Dylan, and Jordynn Tuesday.  You know you have great friends when distance doesnt change a thing!! Love them!!

5. Cousins- or Daylynn's cousin to be specific!
Addison is 2 years and 5 months.  She can't get enough of Daylynn and it is the most precious thing ever!  She is always very concerned where HER baby is and what she is doing.  She is such a good little helper and knows what Daylynn can and can't have.  Daylynns face brightens up every time she sees Addi and it just makes me heart melt.  I hope they continue to stay very close as they continue to grow up.  :-)

Everyone have a great Friday and Weekend!!

Five on Friday

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG
I figured I would join in on the Friday fun!

1. Summers off!
Woo! I love being home with my sweet little baby! With me being a teacher I get my summers off. In years past, I still worked. It was an easy and enjoyable job so I can't complain but now that I have Daylynn I actually am taking the summer off (minus summer school which was 4 mornings a week for 4 weeks). Having this time with her has been amazing and I am not wanting to go back to work in a few weeks, buuuut could be worse and I had to work in the summers too ;)

2. Morning walks with this cutie!

Daylynn absolutely loves getting out of the house and going on walks. It's easy exercise for me too. We have been taking advantage of the cooler weather in the mornings! She is so curious about everything around her so it is fun to get out and talk about everything we see!

3. My best friend, hubs, Daylynns main man, etc.

This man and I have been together for 5 years and married for a year the 21st and it has been the best year ever! Tonight we are celebrating our year anniversary due to our best friends' wedding next weekend. (Which is absolutely awesome! I see some amazing anniversary celebrations in our future!) They have the fair going on in town this weekend, reallll happening let me tell ya, but Josh Gracin is putting on a show tonight so we are going to see him! I'm excited, just hope it cools down come concert time!!

4. Starbucks Vanilla Lattes
Well, let's be honest, anything Starbucks is a fave but I saw already made Vanilla Lattes in WalMart the other day and thought I'd give it a go. Yumm! Glad I did! Great Bend really needs to get a Starbucks, however, it's best they don't so I don't go broke!  We have a few coffee shops here, but I am a weirdo and don't like to go outside of my comfort zone with what I know is good and know what to order.

5. Garage Sales
I am having my first Garage sale tomorrow with a good friend.  I am very excited about it! Not only will I be getting rid of a bunch of stuff, (that should have been rid of long ago) I'll get some money back for the items, or I hope anyways!!! I always have been a fan of going garage sale hunting.  You can find some pretty neat stuff and some good buys. I am also a cheap ass at times--Whatever works :)

Have a great Friday and WEEKEND!

8 Months!!!

8 Months old Today!!

Daylynn you are now 8 months old!! Holy taledo, it doesn't seem possible!
This last month has been extra busy so that doesn't help by any means!  I will say though that you have been HEALTHY!!! Yayy!
Let's start off with the stats...
You are weighing in at 19 lbs. 12 oz.
Not sure the measurement for sure since you don't like to sit still.  We got about 27 inches.  (Looking back at your last month you were 27 1/4 so either you are shrinking-not really, or somewhere we got the measurement wrong.)

What's been going on this month?!
  • You are still getting in to EVERYTHING! You are keeping us on our toes thats for sure.
  • With that being said, you are learning the words NO! It is quite hilarious, and you are quite the tester!  Just this morning, you would pull up on the book shelf and start to touch picture frames and I would say nooo, so you'd pull your hand back.  Then you'd try to touch it again and I'd say noooo again and you'd pull it back real fast.  After that back and forth for a few minutes, you crawled over to the TV stand.  We have it barracaded off with toy boxes, diaper boxes turned into toy boxes, pillows, anything really to keep you away.  You still can maneuver through some and try to stand on it.  We tell you no and you pull back and then try to go again.  It cracks me up and takes a bit to keep a straight face while telling you no because you are so stinkin onery and know what you are doing!  (You get that from dad-not mom :) )
  • Speaking of pulling up on everything, you are walking while holding on to things; furniture, or holding hands.
  • You even stood up all by yourself for a good 10 seconds.  It was AWESOME!!!
  • You are still crawling around like speedy gonzales! You are a fast little rugrat.  Our house is small but you can get from one room to the next in a matter of seconds.  We have fun chasing you around.
  • First sleep over with Grandma Tanji and Grandpa Joe-Mom and dad had a bachelor/bachelorrette weekend to go for "Aunt Jess and Uncle Phil.  I think it was harder on mom then you.  You, of course, were awesome for Grandma and slept very good.  (Now if only you'd sleep that well for mom too)
  • We got to go back to Grandma and Grandpa's the next weekend too for some more family time!  My favorite is seeing you and Addi, your cousin, together! She loves her little baby and you love your cousin too.  It's the best! You two are going to be the best of friends growing up! I can already tell!
  • First 4th of July!!! This is probably one of mom's most favorite holidays.  My family would always go to the parade and the carnival and watch the Wamego Fireworks show every year.  Great Grandma Day loved this holiday as well.  This was the second 4th without her, but the first was right after her passing so this year was harder without her around.  We just stayed in Great Bend this year and celebrated as our little family.  It was very nice and relaxing.  You weren't quite sure about fireworks at first because it was an unexpected popping sounds.  Eventually you did ok. :)
  • You are eating more table foods.  I tried some of the 3rd stage foods for you and you weren't quite sure so we stuck with the 2nd stage, however, loved eating anything we were eating.  You loooove mashed potatoes especially.  You now eat more of the 3rd stage foods and some of what we eat too.  (Speaking of eater, you are a little chunk still-oh well we love our chunky monkey :)
I believe that is about it for this last month. We have another big month coming up! First trip to Omaha Zoo, Aunt Jess/Uncle Phil's wedding, Mom and Dad's Anniversary, and starting at your new daycare come August so mom can get some work done at school before it starts back up! (Not too excited to give my time up with you again!-but it will all be ok!)
Looking cute on the 4th!

I love my Uncle AND Stroller Rides! Look at those baby blues!!

Chewing on her 8 month sticker. Onery rugrat!

Chillin in the fort with Dad! haha again you go anywhere and into everything!!
Daylynn, you are getting more and more fun! I loved when you were a little bitty thing and snuggled with mom, and I love chasing you around and playing with you now just as much, plus you still snuggle with me so its ok :)  I can't wait to watch you grow over the next month and months to come! You are definitely the cutest little thing around and we can't get enough of you! We are so blessed to call you our daughter and can't thank you enough for being a little cutie pie you are :) We love you oodles and oodles!!

7 months

Ok, so where to start...
How about I start with I hope your next month is healthier then the last one.
I mentioned in the last post that you had a pretty rough week leading up to your 6month birthday with the most blowouts a baby could have, eww. Due to that your 6 month shots were put off a week for fear you had a bacteria, which you didn't, it was those stinking teeth.
So we go back the next week for your shots. Those are never fun but you normally do pretty awesome. This go around you did awesome until a few days after. Ugh here comes a fever on top of a cold. So after a weekend of a bad cough and now tugging at the ear, I decided to take you back in to the doctor.
Off to the doctor to find out you had an ear infection and some fluid in your chest. I had 6th grade promotion so dad had to watch you and run to get your medicine because they sent the medicine to Wal mart instead of Walgreens :) Life was pretty good after those got in your system.
Memorial weekend we went to Garden City to meet all the family on your dads side. They all loved you, of course :) Over the weekend you finally mastered crawling! It was still only a few moves and then to you bottom to sit up but hey at least you were able to move forward!!! You also got your second tooth!
The following week or last week, you had a good week until Wednesday when another fever snuck up on you. It went away but came back again Thursday evening. Back to the doctors we went Friday. We were back in Wamego so we went to my family doctor. She prescribed you a new medicine because your ear was still a little infected, even after that being your 10th day for the first go around. You were starting to perk up and even getting around more quickly.
Uh oh then Sunday morning rolled around...allergic reaction to the new meds something fierce! We hurried back to Great Bend to get into Urgent Care. There they just said to watch if she gets a fever and go back in Tuesday to check the ear. Well you were just getting worse, so we went back in on Monday instead. Yay 6 times to a doctor in a month! They finally gave us some medicine for her poor rash since it was clearly itching and making her feel miserable and a NEW medicine for her ear.
Ahhhhh! Poor Daylynn, it's been rough. We are finally on the mend and you look much better but still not completely back to your happy self.
You also pull yourself up on everything, including your BED! Yep, had to lower that bad boy this week late one night!
Even if you have been quite the handful this month and hard to keep happy, we still love you! Parenting isn't the easiest job but it is so worth every little moment and trying times!
We will finish off with your Measurements:
Weighing in at 17 lbs 4 ounces
Measuring 27 1/4 inch-grew quite a bit since last month, I'm sure you growing hasn't helped by any means either :)

Love you turkey!
Pictures to come...

6 months!!

Halfway to ONE! Holy taledo! This past 6 months have flown by wayyy too quickly!  I need you to slow down and stop growing so fast!!
This past few weeks have been extremely busy with birthdays, 1/2 birthdays, and momma's first mothers day!!  I couldn't ask for anything more! You have definitely brought a ton of happiness, laughter, and fun into our lives Daylynn!!! We wouldn't want it any other way, so thank you for being our little blessing!!
Now on to your 6 month wellness check and milestones!!
*You are now weighing in at a whopping  17 lbs 3 oz!! Big girl!! 75%
*You are measuring 25 3/4 inches!  You're only at 50% for height but thats ok, average is good!
*Some major milestones this past month are going from laying on your tummy to sitting up on your own!! You shocked me at the doctors office when you did it! You must have been putting on a show! (Insert mom bragging-the doctor said she was very impressed with you and your development, she said you were doing things an 8 month was doing! Way to go little miss)
*You are getting very close to crawling! We are giving it a week, we shall see.  You've been up on your knees, rocking back and forth, and getting on your toes in plank position (which is hilarious might I add).  You are just stuck at moving forward with your crawling, but you got going backwards down!
*FIRST TOOTH!! Ohh my heavens, I've been waiting and waiting for this, as you have been too, I'm sure!  You have had the worst blow outs all last week!  It was a long few weeks of constantly changing your diapers and clothes!!  Your tooth finally popped through and tada no more blow outs!! (for now)  Your poor buns are finally looking much better as well! That was worse on me then you I think because you were still happy as ever and never cried when changing your pants! (I'm sure down the road you are going hate me for writing about this :) --sorry Daylynn, I love you!)
*Your sleeping was going really great for awhile there, sleeping 7 hours, then waking up for a bottle then back down until time to get ready.  This was pretty nice for mom when you were in this routine.  Yeah, I'd love for you to sleep all night, but up once I can't complain!  Here the last few nights, however, you have not slept well at ALL!  Wearing mom out, that's for sure!
*You love love your bath time! You are now sitting up in your tub instead of laying back, you hate laying back and want to be sitting up like the big girl you are!
*Loving baby food! We've been on oatmeal with bananas for breakfast, rice cereal and a veggie for lunch, and rice cereal, a fruit, and a meal like turkey and squash for dinner.  She loves all foods so far except the meats by them self.  I even tried mixing with the rice cereal and that didn't fly either, we had to try the dinner meals instead so you were still getting that iron and yep you LOVE them!!  The week of our blow outs, the doctor suggested sticking with the starches of rice, bananas, and carrots and not sure it made a difference but you love them so it was all good!  I've even tried some of the sweet potato puffs broken up and you cant get enough of those either!  You're a great little eater!!
*Growing out of your clothes ridiculously fast.  I tried putting on 9 month capris the other day and sadly they didnt fit!! Whaaat! Most clothes you wear are on track 6-9 month but some are 9 month.
Hmm, there is so much more because you are constantly changing every day! Oh we just love your happy, giggly self!!

Cute outfit!!! Ready for Summer!
6 month Picture!
